Gutter mounts or Gutter legs/brackets

Gutter mounts represent an older style of roof rack installation that saw its peak popularity around the mid-90s. They´re often associated with vehicles pre-2005 like the GU Patrol, the 75-79 series Land Cruisers, and early Toyota HiAce models. These mounts are recognized for their simplicity in installation compared to newer systems.

A gutter mount roof rack is specifically designed to attach securely to the rain gutters lining the edges of certain vehicle roofs. These gutters serve as pre-existing channels that offer a natural point of attachment for the rack. The setup typically consists of crossbars spanning the width of the roof, supported by mounting feet designed to grip onto the rain gutters firmly.
